
Your Responsibility As an ESOL Teacher
- 
Be sure all new ESOL students are tested within the required testing window
 - 
Maintain monitoring reports to correlate with the release of report cards
 - 
Keep an open relationship with your staff so that they can come to you about any questions regarding ESOL policies
 - 
Keep proper documentation of mainstream teacher communication
 - 
Assist with the RTI process when needed for ESOL students
 - 
Serve students properly according to their needs in either push-in or a monitoring setting and documenting why you chose this method
 - 
Provide in-services (staff development) to the staff at your school regarding what the levels of ESOL are and what students at each level are able to do at least once a year
 - 
Be a resource for the staff to come to for ideas regarding accommodations
 - 
Accurately test all ESOL students and correctly fulfill all testing duties required as well as follow all testing instructions
