WIDA Standards

 

     Beginning in the 2014-2015 school year, ESOL teachers should have begun incorporating WIDA standards into their lessons in the state of South Carolina.  It is important that the mainstream teachers are aware of these standards so that they are able to  modify instruction when the ESOL teacher is not in the classroom to assist.  Below are some links with helpful information regarding the WIDA standards.

     WIDA is a nonprofit consortium of many states who work together to meet the needs, fulfill requirements, and to improve the offerings for English language learners.  The map highlights all of the states in blue who participate in this consortium.
